i think they are evidence of a dystopia because you don't get to directly name your child and you cant get it back imediently. This proves that cerimonys are proof of a dystopia.

The ceremonies are a dystopia because you cant pick your own job. In the ceremonies people pick your job for you. If you dont like your job to bad you cant do anything about it.

ceremonies in the givers world are meaningful and is evedince to why the givers world is a dysotopia. Also in the world of the giver Jonas was recieved a job at the young age of 12 while he is still at school .

The ceremonies make Jonas's world a dystopia because every year they give someone an age, and in a group. Not a different party, but a ceremony for 100 other kids. That just goes to show sameness, with every family sharing a birthday, depending on age

The ceremonies shows that it's a dystopia because, you can't pick your own job, and it's like you aren't having your OWN special birthday.

i know its a dystopia because you cant name your child you get released for the most stupid things and you have to adopt children and you cant even chose that ! you cant chose how many you get what gender they are or if you get them or not. you get no choice in jobs you get no say in anything and you have to listen to everything they say to you

also jonas received such a job at only 12 not even a teenager yet and working? to make a connection with the outside world (irl) in IRL you would have been locked up for child labor. dystopia alert!!!!!

JONAS needs to get his education still he's not even in 8th grade level education yet none the less high school level where you have that choice to drop out and even still you can't get good jobs you can have basic jobs like mcdonalds and even then! some places as basic as mcdonald's won't take you because you don't have enough education. he's still young and fresh he needs that knowledge so those wrong choices everyone talks about won't happen!!!!!!

I think the world of the giver is a dystopia because your children are not related to you

They are living in a dystopia, because, in the book they don't get to chose their own life goals or dreams, this is because they have a capital like in the hunger games that controls what they do or want to do, one example of this is because in the book they people don't get to choose their own roles in the comunity and they have to what ever the capital tells them to do with their lives.
